When I was contacted to document a Baptism Portrait for this little girl, I was very excited because I’ve known her for a very long time. This little Miss decided to be baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She asked me to take her photos and I couldn’t be more thrilled to share them with you.
For a little background, children are given the option to be baptized when they are eight years of age. In the LDS church, they believe that children are old enough to know the difference between right and wrong. They are able to make the decision of their own free will and choice.
Baptism portraits portray the real innocence of someone humble, willing and desires to be better. I also feel that documenting this special time in a child’s life enhances their self-esteem but also magnifies their duty toward God. I think if we put an emphasis on anything for children, they will remember it, both good and bad experiences shape their lives.
BAPTISM PORTRAIT
This little one was so fun to photograph. Being a mother to three boys, this was a much difficult experience to have a little one just talk and talk talk. We had a great time. And these images serve as an additional reminder that getting all dressed up for photos is really meaningful to children as well. I know once the wall art they select from my products, is hanging in her room, she will be on cloud 9. Can you blame her? She rocked this baptism portrait session. I can’t wait to document her again. They are great at identifying service needs. This mom and dad are very deliberate for their four girls to learn about selflessness early in life. It has always been a pleasure to see their video updates. I’m actually amazed by their kiddos’ independence as they try to create their own personal ways to help others. I hope I can share more about them soon.
